Currently in beta for Fire TV devices in the U.S., X-Ray Recaps is designed to address the common issue of viewers wanting to quickly catch up on previous episodes without stumbling upon spoilers. This feature is especially helpful for returning to shows after a break or when new seasons release.
Key Features of X-Ray Recaps
X-Ray Recaps leverages Amazon’s AI technology to deliver concise, spoiler-free summaries of entire seasons, single episodes, and even specific scenes, personalized to the exact point a user last watched. Powered by Amazon Bedrock on AWS and custom models on Amazon SageMaker, this tool processes video segments and subtitles to create summaries that highlight key moments and cliffhangers, with built-in guardrails to prevent spoilers.
Availability and Future Expansion
Initially available for Amazon MGM Studios original series like The Boys, Daisy Jones & The Six, and The Wheel of Time, the feature will roll out to more devices by the end of the year, expanding access across the platform’s original content.
