Apple Intelligence Writing Tools Now Available for Windows Apps on Parallels Desktop

Apple’s new AI-powered Writing Tools, part of its Apple Intelligence suite, can now be accessed in virtualized Windows applications on Mac computers with Apple Silicon. Initially rolled out in the US with iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1, Apple Intelligence allows users to proofread, summarize, rewrite, and adjust text tone or length within apps. This feature extends to Windows apps running in Parallels Desktop on macOS Sequoia.

To use Apple Writing Tools on Windows apps like Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, users must update to macOS 15.1, then update Parallels Tools through Parallels Desktop. Once configured, users can highlight text and press Shift + Command + W to access the Apple Writing Tools menu.

Apple Intelligence requires an Apple Silicon-powered Mac (M1, M2, M3, or M4 series) with the system language set to English (US). This functionality makes it easier for users on Apple Silicon Macs to work seamlessly across macOS and Windows, enhancing productivity in virtualized environments.

This feature underscores Apple’s commitment to integrating AI tools across platforms, giving Mac users more options for enhanced text editing, regardless of the app’s native operating system
