Baidu Unveils New AI Innovations: I-RAG Text-to-Image Generator and Miaoda No-Code Platform

At the recent Baidu World Conference, Baidu introduced two groundbreaking AI platforms: the I-RAG text-to-image generator and a no-code development platform named Miaoda. These tools, along with a preview of AI-powered smart glasses, are part of Baidu’s vision to commercialize its advanced AI technologies.

Key Announcements

  1. I-RAG: Text-to-Image Generator
    • Enhanced by Baidu’s Search Engine: I-RAG leverages Baidu’s search capabilities to improve accuracy and reduce instances of “hallucinations” in generated images, addressing common issues in AI-generated content.
    • Advanced Image Generation: While late to the text-to-image market, Baidu’s I-RAG is expected to stand out for its enhanced understanding of user prompts, attributed to Baidu’s search-driven dataset.
  2. Miaoda: No-Code Development Platform
    • For Non-Coders: Miaoda allows users without coding skills to create software, websites, and applications. Through visual elements and prompts, users can generate and refine prototypes in real time.
    • AI-Driven Prototyping: Miaoda’s AI not only interprets user prompts to create initial designs but also offers further customization with interactive editing tools, making software development accessible to more users.
  3. AI-Integrated Smart Glasses:
    • Baidu announced it will soon launch AI-powered smart glasses in China. Like Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, Baidu’s version will feature an integrated AI assistant to provide contextual assistance to users.

Baidu’s Future AI Vision

During the conference, Baidu reported that its AI chatbot Ernie now handles 1.5 billion user queries daily, a significant increase from May’s 200 million daily queries. Despite this success, Baidu emphasized it has no intention to develop an all-encompassing “super app” and will instead focus on creating specialized AI tools for specific applications.

These announcements highlight Baidu’s commitment to democratizing AI technology and enhancing user accessibility through tools that simplify complex tasks. The upcoming launch of its smart glasses and the functionality of both I-RAG and Miaoda signal Baidu’s intent to compete on a global stage with practical, user-oriented AI solutions.
