Google has started rolling out its AI-powered video creation tool, Google Vids, to select Workspace users. Unlike typical text-to-video AI generators, Google Vids helps users streamline the video creation process by generating storyboards, adding stock media, creating background music, and even generating AI voiceovers. This tool, initially announced in April, is designed to assist in creating presentations and videos quickly and efficiently.
Key Features:
- Storyboard Generation: Users can create an editable storyboard by providing prompts, source documents, or choosing from templates. Google Vids pulls together stock videos, images, and background music to match the theme.
- Integration with Google Workspace: The tool supports Google Docs, Slides, video, and audio files, allowing AI to use these inputs to enhance the video’s narrative flow.
- Recording Studio: Users can record and add their own video or audio directly, enhancing customization.
- Availability and Access: Google Vids is available to Business Standard, Plus, Enterprise, Essentials, and Education Plus users, with additional access for Gemini Business and Education add-on users.
While the tool is free to use without restrictions until the end of 2025, Google hinted that usage limits might be introduced in 2026. This marks Google’s entry into simplifying content creation within the Workspace ecosystem.
